Nitka in Łódź

Nitka in Łódź

“Nitka” in Łódź, Poland

The recently completed installation “Nitka” (The Thread) in Łódź, Poland, celebrates the city’s textile heritage with an oversized thread that enlivens the space. This multi-functional installation activates its surroundings, creating a space for meetings and interaction, while also reinforcing the identity of this unique setting—historic factories dating back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It invites people to experience and rediscover the area in a fresh way.

Symbolically, the thread connects two key areas in the district: the cultural center on Tymienieckiego Street, which hosts the annual Łódź Design Festival, and the lively Fuzja complex, a mixed-use space for residential, business, and entertainment purposes.

This project was realized with the support of the Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko and the “Sculpture in Public Space for Independence – 2024” program, funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
