Intersections in Kuurne, Belgium

The Intersections collection has brought color and activity to the newly transformed Market Square (Het Marktplein) in Kuurne, a charming town in Belgium. As part of the square’s redevelopment, greenery and water features have replaced hard surfaces, creating a more accessible and engaging environment. Six custom-made, unique compositions from the Intersections collection are placed in the square for the summertime, enhancing the urban landscape and making it more inviting for community members of all ages.

In Kuurne, the Intersections installations serve a variety of purposes. They create a playful, harmonious environment where children can play and adults can relax. Featuring integrated exhibition boards, these installations provide city authorities with an aesthetically pleasing communication tool. The municipality uses these boards to share information about upcoming events and developments, like the newly installed Wi-Fi on the square. By blending traditional displays with multi-functional spaces, the installations promote both community interaction and relaxation.

The Intersections are created with a modular system of geometric shapes that can be freely rearranged. Each element interlocks to create a wave-like pattern of color and form. These geometric installations offer versatile functionality for both outdoor and indoor spaces, including the possibility of hosting exhibitions in public areas. The newly transformed Market Square in Kuurne is now a playful and inviting space! The Intersections installations bring color and fun, where kids can play and adults can relax. These pieces also help the city share information, blending art and community in a beautiful way.
